Allowing yourself to feel and express the most intense, unfiltered emotions of grief without censorship or judgment gives these powerful feelings space to exist rather than remain trapped inside causing additional harm. Raw emotions in suicide grief include rage, despair, overwhelming love, crushing guilt, terror, numbness, relief, abandonment, and countless other intense states that may seem “wrong” or “too much” but are actually normal responses to devastating trauma. Creating safe spaces where you can express raw emotions whether through therapy, support groups, journaling, physical activity, or other outlets prevents emotional suppression that complicates healing.
