Like sunflowers turning toward the sunlight, this blog helps survivors of suicide loss find hope, healing, and the path toward life after loss.

The Fall Transition

We are starting to see the leaves change colors and the songbirds heading south for the winter.  So too must we begin our changes as the cooler months are coming.  When the weather changes, we tend to lock ourselves inside and not go outside as much.  We need to find a way to constructively let go of some of the pain we are feeling after the suicide of our loved ones and not lock it up inside ourselves.

While we are not responsible for the pain we are in, we are ultimately responsible for healing that pain. The loss of our loved ones thrust us into an unknown world of suicide grief.  Healing becomes a process of letting go of the old story that was our life and stepping out to create a new story. To do this we need to tap into all our experience, strength and hope to create a new path forward, even if it is just one leaf at a time.

The trees are about to show us how lovely it is to let things go.
